July 3rd, 2004 Go Karts Plus, Williamsburg, VA
This is mainly for young kids, middle school kids etc. I don't know if we walked through it all or not. It has one Bumper Boats. I saw two Bumper car pens, only one working kiddie ride and two others not working (off the tracks); but there was supposed to be a few more there; I saw three of the supposed (four) Go Cart tracks (one for kids, one that went in a circle and one on a longer track). The Golf course was plain but had 18 holes. We went inside and there was a small arcade. One skee ball area with maybe half dozen lanes, a basketball shoot area, a dance machine, air hockey machine 4 or 5 "grab" machines (bears, watches etc), and maybe a dozen other games. They had a small snack bar that sold hot dogs, ice cream, chips, soda and water (a few other items). I didn't see much more. We did the arcade and golf and that was all. Everything else seemed un-adult-like. It was ok, but nothing spectacular. I see on the website there's supposed to be a small midway and picnic area, but I suspect this means one or two tables or one or two small booths... I didn't see these at all, but it's possible it was there and we just saw part of the park. The golf was $6 per person. Hot dogs 1.50 and sodas about the same. I am sure prices have gone up since then. Most of the arcade games were 50 cents each and the rest of the rides required "tickets" which you picked up at a ticket booth. Most rides were about 5 tickets each I think. Suggested to bring sunscreen and water and decent shoes. No fear of getting wet really. I didn't see many places to sit down.... admission was free and parking free.
